Is this you? Biting the on the lemons life gives you and gritting your teeth against all that bitterness and stress? Chances are you are doing this because you feel you have no other choices. You're overwhelmed, time poor and spend most of your waking hours just trying to make things work in your business. The funny thing is everyone of us has the same 24 hours in each day and yet some manage to find time to be working ON their business so they don't have to spend so much time working IN them but how are they doing this?
If you want the simple answer, which may even seem a bit harsh, it's because of their priorities. Their priority is making their business work FOR them not the other way around. Now I know you're going to say "But I don't want to be working for my business!" and to that I say "Then do something about it!". Take time out to really focus on what you want to achieve and how you can achieve it. Plan, brainstorm, vision board, do whatever you need to but actually go away from your business and do it.
There is a reason so many conferences and business events are held in tropical locations or remote resorts. It's all about removing you from the environment you're in and placing you in one that is solely focused on your goals. Sure it's nice to get away and inevitably we get to enjoy some aspects of being away but it's not really a holiday. It's a chance for us to actually make serious headway in our businesses and plan to succeed and grow.
So next time you find yourself sitting at your computer at midnight, going over your BAS or trying to finalise rosters for your team or whatever has you up that late, ask yourself this. "Is this why I started my business?". The answer will be no and this should be your cue to start looking for ways to make this change. If you really want it, you will make it happen. It's always been my motto and it's true.
