Most people with a website have considered SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) but chances are your not keeping up with the ways in which people engage with technology and how this impacts on your SEO strategy. After all, its not that long ago that we started viewing websites from mobile phones and 46% of them are still not mobile responsive with these websites being penalised in searches from mobile devices.
Recent statistics by Ukietech indicate that 60% of internet access is from a mobile and 77% of local search request are made from a mobile phone. So it is already clear that local SEO has to be part of your strategy to be found, but now we have voice searches too.
Thanks to the invention of Apple's Siri, Microsoft's Cortana and OK Google more than 20% of online and particularly local searches are being done without a screen. A user simply talks to their phone which in-turn responds in voice format. This totally changes the game if you're relying on videos, images and volumes of text to convey information or convert prospects.
But, it is not all scary, there are things you can affordably do to make sure your found in voice searches and it is the early adopters that will benefit. Like anything, it is only a matter of time before demand drives up prices and within 3 years 1/3 of web searches will take place without a screen, so I encourage you to implement now rather than later.
So what an you do?
